First we must get one thing straight, there are two types of grasslands, tropical grasslands and temperate. They have diffrent climates, and different animals, there are examples of each on this page. One similarity is that they both are home to a wide variety of grasses. Grasses are tough and have extremely long roots to collect precise water far under the ground. These gasses grow from their base allowing them to be chewed off, and still regrow. Grassland plants, espacially grasses disperse huge amounts of seeds. Some seeds hitchhike on animals to be spread out. Certain seeds are as light as a feather so they blow in the wind. Some plants have sharp razor leaves to deter hungry animals. Besides grasses other grassland plants are forbs, sedges, cacti, and shrubs.
There are many places that have Grasslands, mainly Africa and America. There are some in Argentina (South America)also in Asia too. There are lots of grasslands so don't count them out.

Koeleria
Most grasses are in the family Poaceae and share the grass characteristics of narrow, linear leaves. They often have inconspicuous flowers and rhizomes or stolons (creeping roots or stems) and many have silica throughout their tissue.

Leafy spurge (Euphorbiaceae: Euphorbia esula)
Flea Beetles Controlling Leafy Spurge
Flea Beetles Controlling Leafy Spurge
is an invasive plant threatening the structural and functional integrity of wildlands throughout much of northern North America. Biological control agents, specifically Aphthona flea beetles, have successfully reduced the foliar cover and density of leafy spurge below and ecological and economic threshold shortly after release. However, the long-term efficacy of flea beetles on the target plant are unknown; consequently, we have several long-term monitoring sites used to investigate not only the efficacy of flea beetles, but also the target and non-target effects of using herbicides to control leafy spurge
